ABC Healthy - If your headache or dizziness, try not taking medicines, but drinking water
A study from the University of Maastricht, The Netherlands, stating consume water regularly can reduce the severity of headaches and migraines, while reducing the need for headache medications.
According to the researchers, drinking about seven glasses of water a day can relieve pain and improve the quality of life of patients who suffer from headaches regularly.
In his study, as reported by Dailymail, Friday, headed by Mark Spigt study involved more than 100 patients who regularly suffer from headaches ranging from mild to severe. The research team then instructed them how to relieve the discomfort, including reducing stress, improving sleep quality, and avoid caffeine.
Among them, half of the patients were also asked to drink 1.5 liters of water a day for three months, on top of their normal fluid intake. At the end of the study, patients completed a questionnaire called the index of Migraine-Specific Quality of Life to describe what they are feeling. The results, as published in the journal Family Practice, those who drink extra water to get a higher score on the questionnaire.
